The Ice Cream Cake strain is a smooth variety, and its high resin content makes it a first-class choice to produce various cannabis extracts with. It has become a very popular strain in many legal cannabis dispensaries across the US.
Cultivation is possible both indoors and in a wide range of climates outdoors. Although these plants love the full sun they also grow to maturity in more temperate regions. The early vegetative growth stage displays great vigor and outdoor plants may be topped several times which serves to emphasize their spherical shape making them strong and highly wind resistant. Despite this form, light penetration is good due to the longer internodal length that develops, and this results in good secondary and tertiary bud development in the plants’ interior.
Indoors, flowering takes around 53 – 55 weeks while outdoor, northern latitude harvests are ready towards the end of September. Yields are 400 – 450 gr/m2 indoors or as high as 1000 gr/plant outdoors. If transplanting into larger pots, then care should be taken to do this in a timely manner in order to avoid the possibility of plants becoming rootbound, something that will cause the plants to flower prematurely, adversely affecting both yields and quality.
